Representing
From a literary perspective, representing means showing what you understand. This can take many forms; from video and photography to a mind map or infographic. Pretty much any type of a visual can be a representation of literacy. Just think of some of your favourite books when you were younger and the incredible illustrations that helps the story to really come alive. One of the main facets of representation is that it tends to refer to a way for someone to personally express literacy.
There were several ways in which I was able to incorporate representing into lessons. In science there were worksheets the students completed to demonstrate learning on a topic. Additionally, for some of the group projects, the students in their groups had to spend some time designing how their projects would look, before starting on the actual project. For some of the class, I could see this was quite helpful, as it they were better able to "see" how the project might turn out before starting.
